Volleyball

Volleyball at Hedrick is for 7th and 8th grade only. Volleyball is a cut sport, so teams are announced after tryouts.  

Registration for volleyball opens on June 1st.  

Cost to participate is $50.  Fees must be paid before the first game.  All athletes must register online and be cleared by the Hedrick athletic department before participating in any way.   

Volleyball will have an optional open gym from August 17th-21st from 4-5:30 pm. For all practices/open gym, students will need to go to doors near gates by the track at Lower Jackson.  

THERE IS NO PRACTICE ON AUGUST 18TH DUE TO HEDRICK ORIENTATION DAY

Tryouts will be:
8th grade tryouts: 8/24-8/25 4 pm -5:30 pm
7th grade tryouts: 8/26-8/27 4 pm - 5:30 pm
Team announcements will follow.  Please see volleyball schedule for more information.  

During school, volleyball practice is every day from 3:45-5:15/5:30 pm.  Practices are closed to the public. Athletes will go to the locker room to dress and then meet in the main gym. Please wear shorts, a t-shirt, and gym shoes on the first day.   

There is no practice on days when there is no school, or on game days. Practice times and locations may be adjusted due to heat or smoke.

Message from our Athletic Director:

It is always our goal to keep student-athletes participating in their sport. We do, however, want to remind athletes and parents of a few policies pertaining to athletic participation. Please keep the following in mind. 

  • Athletes must be enrolled in 5 or more classes.
  • Athletes must attend school all day on match days (unless cleared by the athletic director in advance).
  • Athletes must also attend practice the day before any match.  
  • Athletes must maintain passing grades for all classes to participate (No grades of D or F).
